The History
Built in 1901, this house was the first in the area, built specifically to lure in a local banker. A lot of history has occured since then, and how much still remains has yet to be determined.
The Setting
East-Central Oklahoma, Shawnee
While searching the web for local haunted sites, I came across a new page. I (Logan) then contacted the owners of this future haunted B&B after seeing their website online. I talked with the homeowners (Mother and Daughter mediums Pat and Kate) about the activity that started in the house and the circumstances surrounding the haunting. I soon learned that the activity had escalated to physical attacks. I decided it was definitely worth looking into.
They both agreed to meet me at the house to take me on a tour of the home and explain a little further in detail about what was going on. Before the official investigation we made several trips to the house. Both times we were there, activity was present.
The homeowners mutually agreed to make the investigation on a Friday night. Brandon and I met Erik, Laura and Ed at the local Cracker Barrel for dinner and then we made our way to the house for the investigation. We unpacked our gear and started the interviews of the homeowners. Immediately after, we started the sweep of the home. We felt the most activity was in the basement. We conducted two sitdowns in two separate areas of the basement: One sitdown with and the other without the homeowners. The first sitdown appeared to have more activity as time progressed. Shadows were noticed moving behind Logan and Ed. This occured around the same time they experienced a cold spot. Several times during this sitdown yellowish lights were seen near the doorway. We did not experience much activity during the second sitdown as it was perceived that the energy was holding back just outside of the room we were in. Without a doubt, the most activity was experienced on our trips before the investigation. This acivity included distinctive walking up and down the stairs, EMF array activations, and documented cold spots.
We will be returning to this house soon to conduct another investigation of the home. This time, the homeowners will not be in the house. Case Details:
We returned to the Search House the weekend following our prior investigation. The last investigation was seemed pretty quiet, however, this one proved to be quite different. We had to conduct more interviews to gain further knowledge into this mysterious place. During the setup for the interviews, an unknown object came flying from the front living room and skidded across the floor. We were unable to find the item, nor dertermine the cause. After the interviews, and prior to the start of walkthrough, Brandon was having issues with the DVC30 camera. He could not access one of the menus on the camera. He tried several things but nothing prevailed. Logan told him to take the camera outside and try again. He stepped on the back porch, with no success. Once he stepped off of the porch and on the ground, the camera was working fine. Once inside, Logan and Jeremy heard footsteps coming from the upstairs.
Now, one thing that was different with this trip other than the fact that we were staying the night was the fact that the homeowners would not be in the house at all. We had the whole home to ourselves all night. We conducted the sweep as usual. During the sweep of the attic, we got some strange spikes on the EMF. Logan witnessed a shadow of a child by Erik in the back part of the basement, at the same time Erik was describing an electrical/static feels urrounding him. Unfortunately however, the gaussmaster did not activate at the point. Knocks and noises were also heard in the attic.
In the basement, during the sweep, a child’s voice was heard, multisyllabel, but unintelligible. We started the first sitdown in the main room of the basement. There was a lot of shadow activity that was reported which seemed to increase the longer we sat there. During the sitdown, a very uneasy feeling filled the basement. So much in fact, Laura and Erik could not stay in the basement any longer. They proceeded up to the first floor. Logan, Brandon and Jeremy stayed. They moved to the 2nd room of the basement to monitor activity. Once the sitdown was completed, they returned upstairs with Erik and Laura.
We conducted the 2nd sitdown in the upstairs children’s room. During the sitdown, Brandon experienced a drop in battery power while the closet doorknob was being mysteriously moved. There was also a noted temperature decrease, and Logan’s left leg got very numb, and several noises were coming from the hallway. At one point, Jeremy decided to recap the story of the three bears to the children. Without much response, Jeremy decided to play a game, at this point the activity did seem to pick up considerably. Laura saw a womanly figure pacing out side the room, very stern looking. At that point all activity ceased, and was quiet the remainder of the evening.
After the sitdown, we went to bed and left the next day. We will be returning soon to gather more data.
